flue lengths for boilers & WH

Can anyone recommend reference resources for residential gas boiler and/or HW heater flue sizing including diameters, lengths, fitting equivalencies, etc? Primarily interested in info for non-condensing systems. I am looking for facts. A little theory is okay but not a course in draft science. Do mfgs. typically spec. this for their products? Internet or printed matter.

Thanks for any assistance or feedback.

Greg

If you contact Hart & Cooly they can send you their booklet on venting and the required tables. I got mine through Johnstone supply and it is a good reference.

has one of the best handbooks I've seen it makes head or tails of the Nat'l Fuel Gas Code along with practical considerations. The Standard, however for venting rules is NFPA 211. No sizing charts but gen'l rules of the road.

  • I have my new manual

Fundamentals of Gas Volume II which addresses this entire subject from A to Z. It includes chimneys and sizing, single wall and double wall and all the other charts and procedures needed. If you contact me at gastc@cox.net I will advise you on price and how to order.
