I was getting 400+ spams per day and starting to delete real email in frustration...until I installed SpamBully today. (Using MS Outlook)
Best $29.00 ever spent. You can download a trial version for 14 days. Minutes to install and learn. Now I won't have to spend $400. for a new copy of MS Office.

If you're on windows, get the heck off of outlook. That program is a giant red flashing invitation for viruses on windows machines.
At the very least, make sure your "preview pane" is turned off. It can be enough to trigger some bad boys and will also let spammers sending HTML know you are an active email account (then you go on the "known active" lists and your addy is worth more $$$ to other spammers!)

re
never ever ever ever ever allow you remail address to appear on the web anywhere for any reason. You probably need to change it, hey phone numbers change, people will deal. Between my isp spam filter and this, I get zero spams. One email address is mistakenly listed on a website for a trade group I belong to, I get a nigerian scam or so a week. Get a free email account to use for every time you need to send email to unknowns, or fill out an online form. When it gets spam filled, dump it for a new one.0 -
Unfortunately...
my contact info from the ART website is critical to my business. The website produces 50% of the leads. No email contact, no biz.

re
then make it mybusiness@lycos.com not your real email. my isp gives me 5 rotating mailboxes, i can create an infinite number of email addresses, but only 5 at a time. Also never reply from those addresses, so they don't get in anyones address book0 -
Have you attempted to obfuscate your e-mail address?
There are some simple means possible to make you e-mail totally readable to potential customers, yet prevent most web-scraping bots from obtaining it. On windows machines, E-cloaker seems to do the same things as SpamStopper does on the Mac. Both programs turn your e-mail address into unicode, which most scrapers cannot read (but web browsers do).
For an example, browse over to my website, then tell your web browser to show the source. If everything is working as planned, you won't see a usable address at the bottom of all the HTML code.
So, simply substitute the Unicode generated by the above utility on your web-pages in the contact-me area (i.e. put the #codes as a replacement for mailto:xyz@xyz.com). Upload the changed pages, double-check that your e-mail link still works afterwards, and presto! far less spam.0 -
re
how long before the spambots catch up with that?
You still need a 'fake' email address to use for any response or sign up on the web0
