Masimo Debuts Rad-57, the World's First Monitor Capable of Noninvasively Measuring Carbon Monoxide Levels in the Blood
IRVINE, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 03/22/2005 -- Masimo®, the inventor of Read-Through-Motion & Low Perfusion Pulse Oximetry, debuted the Rad-57 Pulse CO-Oximeter at the EMS Today conference in Philadelphia. The Rad-57 is a handheld monitor that uses advanced signal processing to analyze data from a sophisticated, yet simple-to-apply, finger sensor to accurately measure carboxyhemoglobin (SpCO), the percentage of blood hemoglobin bound with carbon monoxide. The SpCO percentage provides the caregiver continuous measurement of carbon monoxide (CO) in the blood. In addition, the Rad-57 measures SpO2, pulse rate and perfusion index with Masimo SET technology.

Are you getting any feedback? That's what I usually look for before writing about the subject. And what's your opinion?0 -
4 years ago I purchased and donated a monoxor II with the Breath Air Module (BAM) to the local fire department. There was mixed views in the department about its use, but liked the fact that they could use it for a backup for monitoring levels upon building entry. When I first got the news alert about the Pulse CO-Oximeter I passed the information on to the Lead EMT. This was the first that she had heard of it and was very interested in it because of ease of use vs the BAM and knew someone that was attending the conference where it was going be debuted. They are to be bring back more information on the unit.
Would recommend that you include in an article for THE NEWS.0 -
