Boiler size
I DID A HEAT LOSS CAL. ON MY HOUSE AND COME UP WITH 74,000 BUT HEAT LOSS. WHAT SIZE BOILER DO I NEED? IS THE A FUDGE FACTOR ADD A PERCENT TO THAT? DO I NEED A BOILER WITH 74000 INPUT OR OUTPUT0 -
There are many \"output ratings\"
The one you want is the "Net I=B=R rating"
You can fudge the output rating by a percent or two, but never more than 5%!

heat loss
The stimate is just that an estimate. When your done you have to tame that boiler for the particular day and the particular heat loss of the day. So it's a little like the average american male being 40 yeasr old. To adjust and tame the boiler to gi an exact BTU replacement for loss is an hourly process of allowing the actual thermostat demand to call for jus the right temperature from the boiler, at 60-8-% circulation. When you have that you have tamed the boiler to its need. That sir is the majic of heating and cooling.
