Loop Hot Water System - Excessive Noise/banging

Hi... I could use some help/advice.
I have a hot water loop system in the house. There are 3 zones: main floor; second floor; garage.
The problem is that the heating system is making too much noise. It is disturbing our sleep at night.
I know there are the typical expansion noises in the baseboard radiators, but we also are experiencing very loud banging sounds as well. These bangs occur with a definite rythym. There are two types. The first occurs sightly before the furnace kicks in and these bangs are very frequent but soon stop after the furnace turns on. The other is the same bang but at a much slower rate and it continue for some time.
Also, these noises tend to occur in one particular room on the second floor. Other rooms are much less noisy.
My heating company has spend a number of hours working on the problem. They "bled" the system and replaced a reducing valve and a zone valve in the process but the noise has not stopped. I think they gave up!
Any advice?
Thanks!
