B&G flo-control valve

Does a B&G Flo-control valve act as a check valve? Is the discharge of a zone pump the correct place for it anyway?

and if it's one of those in the picture - then yes - it's a check valve - but it's only a gravity check not a spring check - natural convection can open it, by the way the thing on top is to hold it open for purging the system
