Thermostatic Radiator Valves

What's the best TRV out there for one-pipe steam systems? We're trying to decide between the Danfoss RA2000 1PS or the Macon OPSK for all upstairs bedrooms (7 of them) - any thoughts/preferences?

    Have you seen Honeywell's offering?

The valve & vent portion is the Y100P1001, and you can choose the T100A self-contained control unit or the T100B with a remote setpoint adjustment, or the T100F with a remote temp sensor. For more info, go to http://customer.honeywell.com, and follow the prompts to "water products".

    Honeywell also

I have used the Honeywell items Bill mentioned above (V100P and the TA100) for the last 6 years. I have 5 units and they work great. None have failed.

    More on Danfoss

    Hello Kelly:

Danfoss 1PS Valves have a built in vacuum breaker. Also, our operators utilize a vapor charge which responds to temperature changes faster. This means the valves will open and close faster to maintain room temperature.

We have thousands of 1PS units installed with great results for the building owners. Fuel savings and room comfort are greatly improved!

For more details on the theory and operation of 1PS please click on “The Library” link and select Thermostatic Radiator Valves.

Please feel free to contact me directly, or our website @ www.danfossheating.com

    Warm Regards,

    Bill Burton
