NO word from the ISH boys ?

I guess it's hard to lug a laptop and hoist a 24oz mug of beer at the same time. ISH has plenty of "digital cafes" where you can log on and play. The ISH website has current pictures available for download in the Press section. Some interesting articles in the Press Releases.

It might be that Chris is never coming home again. Pretty girls + LOTS of great beer + awesome hydronics = you will never see JCA again.

    You mean...

this pic? BTW, It's a custom hand-painted chimney for either a pellet stove or high temp appliance. Metalbestos makes class 1 chimneys in Europe that come in 6 colors...for interior exposed installation. I'm not sure if the girl comes with the chimney purchase.

    Neked at ISH!

Chust back - dead tired, but I've got more than 300 photos! The neked women are much easier on the eyes when viewing products at ISH(S).

    Steady on mates!

This is a family board & no nudes will be posted, but there's lots of really cool things to be viewed by way of products.

As always, the dISH at ISH is all in how the products are presented and displayed - it's as much a theatrical production as it a product offering. The lighting and product placement create so much sensory overload, that one soon finds ones self needing a break. And that's hardly a challenge either as virtually every single one of the 2,000+ vendor displays include full-service bars where you can have wasser - mit gaz or nicht, wine - red or white, champaigne, bier - on tap no less, or any of several varieties of soda - like Cola-light (diet coke). Hungry, well rest easy because thay all have snacks too and many have full scale restaurants with very pretty waitresses - more sensory overload(G).

It always amazes me how hard others strive to learn our language and how they'll practically knock themselves out in efforts to communicate.

If you don't mind shoulder-to-shoulder crowds with lots of rude jerks who ride herd by bumping right through the crowd & you, you'll have the proper mind set.

I'll bet I walked at least 10 miles each day (or the equivalent of that) in my efforts to cover the show from end-to-end & halle-to-halle.

We're going to be seeing some dramatic changes in PHVAC. Most of which center around communicating with equipment in just about any format you'd like to use. Intuitive control logic too with self-adjusting & self-diagnostics becoming standard. Variable speed oil that's fully condensing and darn near fits in the palm of your hands (a slight, but not too big of an exageration).

The NAOHSM group was made up of an amazing think-tank group of individuals and I was priveledged to sit in on several high-level top-secret meetings they had with European manufacturers regarding R&D products being developed.

We also found time for several sidewalk meetings in Rhoma's 14th century square where Herr Bindig met his fate with thirsty American's! The weather was outstanding, so sitting outdoors without a jacket - with great friends - with cold frothy-topped Bindigs - was a welcome experience.

We spent a day with Testo in the Black Forrest region (south Germany) and toured their factory. They reside in the foothills of the Swiss Alps & the scenery is awesome. Vending machines at the factory include the normal line-up of sodas, but there are also several types of bier too. Try that at a US plant!

    We made alot of memories.

    Seeing friends at ISH

    Chris?

Saw Noel Kelly, who spied me in the crowd near Viessman's monsterously large booth. He's got a really cool top-secret home-based co-gen system in the pipeline.

Passed several others on escalators and bumped into still more while walking the halls. With crowds that had to exceed 50,000 people a day, seeing anyone you know from anywhere is a chance miracle.

The subway trains run exactly on time and scream along at something like 100 MPH between stations! Even though we were quite some distance from ISH at the hotel, it was only a 20 to 30 minute public transportation subway ride (free too!) with only one change between tracks required. Holohan & Boltz learned the system while we all dined together the first night (actually our second night, but first one at the hotel where we stayed after the Black Forest) & we all went to ISH together the next morning under their supervision while learning the system. From that moment on, we were all on our own regarding when we wanted to go or return to and from ISH.

But, as Dorothy said - there's no place like home. No Toto here - not even in the bathroom and Auntie M was never a part of the family, but it feels good to be back. Feels like 2:30 AM to me right now, so adjustment to the internal clock needs work!

    Hello to all....

Sorry for the lack of communication, the hotel internet connections are as fast as a turtle with bad knees! One other change for this year was the first flyer handed out while walking in the halls, NO CAMERAS.I asked nicely a few times but my German is truly horrible.

Mr. Yates, Bob from Contractor magazine and I waited for you at the Viega booth noontime Thursday and 2 sets of eyes couldn't find you in the crowd.(BTW....REALLY BIG CROWD!!)
As Dave said, the show is amazing and I would HIGHLY recommend everyone in the field take it in at least 1 time. My dogs are barking so loud the neighbors are complaining. After 2 days of walking the show, I managed to see the heating building, the tool building and a few of the various plumbing hall floors but truly could have spent a week there alone.Way too much to see in 2 days!.

I can't even imagine being a supplier looking for a new line because there would have to have been well over 3000 radiators alone. Lots of knock-off but some VERY imaginative units as well.

It is going to take a couple of weeks to digest all the things I saw, and 2 years till I even get the chance to see some that I missed. I'm TIRED!

Hope to re-join the Wall in a short while but my body says it's time for some sleep.

Mr. Milne, I've got a special present for you. Chris

    I was there too!

At noon - in the Viega booth. Halle 4, 1st floor, booth B44 & as you said, it was a shoulder-to-shoulder crowd. I arrived there at 11 (as Bob indicated in an e-mail before we left) & spent the next 75 minutes there photographing and taking in their product line. From 12:15 to 2:30, I toured the rest of halle 4 and continued to return to the Viega booth every 30 minutes. Just shows to go ya that finding someone in that crowd is tough.

Even though I had a press pass, which permits picture taking, I had a very nasty experience with two security goons Friday morning who tried confiscating my camera & tripod. They didn't speak English & I not enough German. Fortunately, I had spoken with the booth's manager prior to shooting pics and he was drawn in by the commotion. While he was attempting to get the goon-squad to back off, they were standing facing him as their conversation began to heat up. Both had their backs to me, so I made a quiet and hasty exit(G). On each of the five days I attended the show, I was confronted about taking pictures, but once the press pass was shown, all was ok.
