The Wall works wonders.
The 17 year old daughter of some camping friends was involved in a serious car accident Wednesday. The EMS people had to cut her out of her car after a SUV T-boned her. She has a serious head injury, bruising on the brain, ruptured spleen, fractured finger, fractured pelvis, and over 60 stitches to her face.
Please remember Kristin and her parents, Renee and Joey in your prayers.
Thanks.
Jeff

I'LL JUST SAY MY PRAYER, you are in my heart and in my prayer.0 -
I hope she recovers soon!
I am so happy that the EMS people were able to save her after the land-yacht hit her. I hope she'll be walking, smiling, etc. again soon. In the meantime, I hope that recovery won't be too painful... for her, her parents, her friends, etc.0 -

You got 'em
My son Andy was in an accident when he was 17. During the two hours that it took to get to the hospital from our house, all we knew was that one boy was dead and one was critical. Andy was the one that survived.
I'll never forget that feeling as long as I live. Our hearts go out to her and her parents.0 -
update
This is a copy and paste of the email Kristin's mom sent us.

I am only home for a little while to shower and take care of some stuff. Kristin has improved a little. They had to give her 2 more bags of plasma last night...that makes at least 8 along with about 3 of red blood. They are trying to bring her out of sedation starting today. They say we have several days, possibly months, to go before we know the full extent of her injuries....physical and mental. She's down to about 3 or 4 IV's instead of 6 or 7. They are going to put in a feeding tube today. She is still hooked up to a machine to help her breath but they say it is set "minimally", so that's good. I hope I haven't forgotten to tell y'all something. I truly appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers. I have seen pics of her car. Everyone that has seen it says that they are surprised she is alive. She was driving and her driver door was pushed all the way to the passenger side of the car. Some people say it looks like she wrapped it around a pole, because of the extent of the damage. They had to cut the roof off the car to get her out. The man that sat with her waiting for the ambulance called us Wed. night and said he was very happy to hear she had survived because he thought she had not made it. It's going to be a very slow process, but so far, things are looking okay. Again, thanks for all your thoughts and prayers and please continue to pray for her.

Thanks for the prayers. Please continue to think about her.

I am happy to hear she is better!
It's wonderful when a car does the best thing it can ever do for its occupants, i.e. sacrifice itself to protect the occupants as best it can. I remain awed by the amazing work that goes into making cars stronger, more resistant to impacts, etc. Ditto for the advances in medical science that allow patients to survive trauma that would have killed them just a few years ago.
I doubt that the road to recovery will be a bed of roses for Kirstin. However, it is wonderful that she has survived what is arguably the hardest part of the ordeal. I wish her a complete and speedy recovery!0
