What is the consensus on the Weil mclain stainless indirect tanks, positive? negative? or would superstore be prefferable over this. Input appreciated.

    For me....

It is the ONLY indirect that I use.... the tank in tank design makes for very low head through the HX, they make copious amounts of hot water right now..... and they seem to hold up very well. I replaced one a few years ago and the factory warranteed it even though it had been hooked up backwards... the dom. water was in the outter tank, duh......no I didn't hook that one up.... but did do the new one right. Now they can fill their whirlpool tub up with no problem.

    WM PLUS water heaters

Best one on the market (my opinion). Easy to install, 2' head loss (doesn't need bigger circ to overcome head loss). I've installed dozens with virtually no problems. Love Buderus boilers but WM PLUS water heaters get my vote.

It is made by Triangle Tube

Doesn't matter whether it says phase III or Weil Mclain it is a great tank. We have many of them out there, the only issue out of a couple of hundred tanks was a bad tank thermostat. I had that part next morning in hand. Excellent recovery ratings and less than a 1/2 ' per hour heat loss. It has a 25 year warranty. This tank gets our companys blessing.

I use the Phase III tank, it works great in hard water situations and does have great output! I did have one w/ a bad tstat a few yrs back but was replaced w/ out a poroblem. I have noticed that nearly all of them run the tstat near the lowest temp setting. I was told you can bring the remote bulb further up near the top of the tank to make it more accurate. The customer just puts it where they're happy and leaves it. Great Tank!!

    In MY House

We have a W/M Plus indirect, and BOY am I pleased. For a short period of time (1year) seven people were living in my residence (2 adults - 5 children). That's seven showers a day countless extra laundry loads, two load of dishes a day, and we NEVER ran the sucker cold! (Nor did we ever give any thought to who or what was drawing DHW before starting the washer, dishwasher etc)

PS. High limit on the boiler is 155F!

    My two cents - JOHN
