Top Shelf
and worth the additional price.
Once installed, my Viessmann customers disappear, i.e. they have absolutely no problems.

I've been using them (and their water tanks) for over 10 years and can recommend them as the finest made. So is support and serviceability.

A few descriptive words/terms
Without peer comes to mind. The Rolls Royce, Mercedes Benz and Lexus of boilers all rolled into one. Their reliability, efficiency and quality is unmatched by anything I have come across. The backup, support and ready to serve attitude exhibited by all persons involved in Warwick and Waterloo is nothing less than shocking to someone used to the service typically demonstrated by most other brands. No other company that I deal with has provided me with a 24 hour service help phone number. What does that say about Viessmann,....... about other companies?
Excellent, outstanding, superior, exceptional, first rate, superb, tremendous, incomparable..........you get the picture.
Are they more expensive up front? In most residential applications, Yes.
Are they more expensive over the life of the equipment? No,
even if you figure the time value of your money.
Of all the Viessmann equipment I have installed, everything in their line except a Vertomat, I have had one part fail. That's right,.......one part.
Out of all the brands of boilers that I sell or can get my hands on, I picked a Viessmann for my own house.
I think you can understand my position pretty clearly?0 -
Well Shaun... if you put one in your home.....
you'll probably want to sell the home so you can install another one....so...i guess that might be one of the drawbacks on installing a Viessmann *~/:)0 -
A mere homeowner...
...yet I feel somewhat qualified to chime in. I chose a Vitola to be the heart of our oil-fired system based on the reviews here, my own research, etc. The boiler is top-notch, easy to install, and I cannot say enough good things about Jim McCarthy and the rest of the crew down in Warwick, RI.
I am a homeowner, yet they have allowed me to attend 1 technical training course to date, with 3 more in the coming year. And, if you're serious about Viessmann, I'd take every training course you can get your hands on, because there are a lot of subtelties to these boilers that may make them more expensive materials-wise but less expensive labor-wise. All the tricks add up to a lot less time installing and troubleshooting...0 -
The best
Viessmann is hands down the best built boiler on the market0 -
Viessmann.........
Another satisfied homeowner, installed a Vitola BEA 29 oil fired boiler with indirect DHW in 1991. Had 2 issues with controls which were resolved in typical Viessmann fashion, direct and efficient, what more can you ask for? When family member builds house you can bet it will be a Viessmann.0 -
Really I'm new to the industry. I just in the past three weeks joined the heating dept @ Rampart Supply in Colorado Springs and Water Systems in Denver. We just picked up the Viessmann line and hope to sell alot. Our company is going to Langley, B.C. to learn more @ viessmanns academy in June. Thanks everyone for the inside. KEEP ON HEATIN !!!

Perhaps I will get flamed off the board here but as a homeowner who looked hard at a Viessman here's my take:
Yes, if you have unlimited budget and no concern for expense you should go with Viessmann
If budget is a concern you can easily get very close to same quality equipment and 95% of the efficiency/savings and features/benefits with other high quality "no-problem" equipment vendors all for 65% of the cost (of the Vitola or 85% of the cost of a VitoRond)
- so if you do a true cost/benefit you'll likely look elsewhere
Don't get me wrong, from what I saw (as a homeowner purchaser) the Vitola was the top of the line. To me it was a 'luxury', so I went a Buderus and didn't feel like I was compromising. Again, that was for my application too, I don't know specifically what you are buying your system to do...0 -
Another homeowner opinion...
Just got a Vitodens and Vitocell installed this past winter. Job is just getting it's finishing touches now, so can't give a long term viewpoint as it's only been heating our house for about 6 weeks now. So far, so good. The support from Viessmann and their local reps (RST) has been outstanding. They have been there for my contractor, and as a "hands-on" homeowner they have also answered all of my questions (I took responsibility for the electrical work associated with our job).
I view our installation as a long term investment as we plan to be living here for atleast the next 15 years. We have plans to add some radiant floor components to our system over the next couple of years, so I feel like we have a very solid base to build on. Where we live there are lots of qualified contractors who install Viessmann so I'm not worried about service in the least. I would feel different about it if my contractor was the only guy within 100 miles who knew about the stuff.
If we were the kind of folks who jump from one house to the next every 4 years, I would not have installed a Viessmann. It's a very sad state of affairs, but there is basically no ROI on resale for superior mechanicals. It wouldn't suprise me if a brand new Goodman furnace was "valued" higher than a 5 year old Viessmann when selling a house. You buy Viessmann for the long haul.0 -
as a wholesaler....
I not only judge a product on price, quality and delivery but also on the integrity of the company.
You will not meet a comapny or work with someone with higher integrity the Viessmann. My hat is off to Ed and the entire US crew, the staff in Canada and the entire company in EU!!!
We are a team!!!!!!!
