weil Mclain boiler question

The supply house I work for sells WM boilers and the Ultra is an incredible boiler. First of all do not worry about 180 degree water. Ultras monitor out door air temp and return water temp. It will actually anticipate what degree water you need on lets say a 40 degree day. On that day if the return temp dosent rise fast enough, it will increase the fire. The only time the boiler would see 180 is on the coldest day of the year or when making domestic hot water. The tec did probably change the program to give you a little longer run time. Short cycling is not a good thing. I hope I answered your questioin, if not feel free to email me, and I can send you some literature.

weil mclane boiler setting
Am a homeowner that had a weil mclane ultra 230 installed. The house was built in 1929, house has cast iron rads. Removed an old WM oversized boiler.
My Question:
The old boiler heated water 180 degrees and put out comfortable heat, not efficient but warm. When the new ultra 230 WM boiler was installed, it heated up to 180 or so degrees. The engineer from the firm that installed the boiler was at the house a month after the install and noticed the boiler was short cycling. Technician came and adjusted. Since then I have noticed the water temp on the boiler doesn't go much past 145. Rads don't of course put out as much heat. Even when turning the thermostat up 6 to 7 degrees on a cold night(only get about 145 to 150 degrees) it doesn't seem to heat like the old boiler after the adjustment was made. The boiler takes about 10minutes to get up to the 150 temp. How should this new energy efficient boiler function ? Does it need some more fine tuning?0 -
Sounds like it's working fine,
but the real question is; ARE YOU COMFORTABLE?
The radiators should NOT get to 180 or anywhere near that - except on the coldest day(s) of the year. The cooler the rads stay - as long as you're warm, the more efficient the system will run.
