steam main vent pipe

I have a 2 pipe steam system with piping probably about 75 yrs old (the boiler was replaced 15 years ago). I just bought the house 18 months ago. I am adding gorton #2's to end of both main runs (63' and 90'). they both have hoffman #75's now. (one each). the problem is I can't disconnect the "risers" where the hoffman's are attached to put in "T's" so I can add the gortons. the riser pipes appear to be 1/2" but the coupling for one of the risers appears to be very thin (not a thick type pipe). also the risers come out of a 1 1/2" elbow with a 3/8" elbow then there is a bushing expanding the riser to 1/2". I"ve put wd-40 and PB blaster on the threads and used 10" pipe wrench but can't turn the 1/2" riser out of the coupling---I'm afraid to try and take the 3/8" elbow out of the 1 1/2" elbow for fear I will break it off and be in a real mess. Help! thanks

Heat the fitting with a torch
so it will expand and loosen its grip on the pipe. Be careful with the torch so you don't start a fire- but you knew that.
If this fails, it's time to call in a pro. This will be "money well spent".
