I use Motor oil. I use the stuff I lube burner motors with. Make sure it isn't leaking from the 1/4" plug for the gauge.

Three of them
What do you guys use to lube the o-ring and gasket? Fuel oil doesn't seem to do it. No, I didn't read the instructions. No, I don't have the instructions any more. Thanks.

Thanks guys
I'll take care of those, pronto. Yeah Robert, I felt the same way at Viessmann. People who spend time on The Wall sure appear to me to take their trade rather seriously. See ya.

I too carry
I too carry one of those plastic oil bottles with the long snoot for motors and that's what I use. I am very anal and use the bottle with the tiny cap so it stays in my tool box. One thing I have noticed but never experimented with is the O Ring is different on a Garber verses the knock off brands. I have never tried to use one with another. I have reused the Garber O Ring witn no bad effects. In a pinch I have used fuel oil on the seal witn no leaks. Are you using Garber or what I call one of the imitations?
