This is a good site, but I agree that you can make it better.
www.enginads.com is a favorite of mine with some features that would benefit your users. "smokstak" is their equivalent of "the wall."
If you check it out, you will see that it graphically shows you whether or not you have posted in that thread and whether or not it has any new posts since you were there. Also, when you move your mouse over the thread, you can read the first sentence or so, giving you a preview of whether or not you want to go there. It's sort of a hot rod site in terms of maneuvering around I think. Also, you can put "emoticons" on your post: smiley faces, rolling eyes, thumbs up, frown, you name it. That helps eliminate misunderstandings in case someone can't discern a joke, and also makes it more visually appealing.
The only problem I have with posting on the wall is that it won't allow me to put spaces, paragraph indents, etc... which I think would help make posts more readable and clear- especially the occasional long or confusing posts.
Please check out the site and see what you think.
Thanks again, Kevin0 -

nice
but ' best RFH co in the country.' ... try to stay local
check your spelling on (professional)
some job pics are nice also.
Good luck, I hope it works well for you.

Thanks Singh I will heed that. I was trying to say that we "strive" to be the best in the country not work all over the country. Did you feel that the wording is misleading? If so I need to check that. Thanks again.

Good start
I'll second Singh's posting though, you really need to polish your spelling and grammar. Or, get someone to proofread your copy and make corrections. To your potential customers, spelling and grammatical errors will stick out like a sore thumb.
And the more job pics, the better. "This could be yours"....
For testimonials, try to include how much fuel the customer saved. This info may not be available immediately, but it would be one more reason to follow-up with your customers.
If you're going to work with steam, you need to be able to get Gorton vents- especially the monster #2 main vent. If no one in your area handles them, call Ken Kunz at Gorton, 908-276-1323. He or one of his co-workers just might be able to help you out.

Main Page Critique
Please watch your grammar, spelling and punctuation! Such doesn't matter much at places like Heating Help where we're often thinking and writing rapidly, but at your website it DOES matter!
Below is my correction of copy from the main page.
Mitchell Mechanical, Inc. is a full-service heating company specializing in Radiant Panel, Warm Water, Solar, and Steam heating. We also install highly engineered forced air heating systems as well as a wide array of domestic hot water heating solutions that lower your gas bills and can supply you with an endless supply of hot water. Our craftsmanship is unmatched. We don't just want to create the highest quality heating systems on the market, we make them...
We are obsessed with being the best Radiant Floor Heating company in the country. Our designs are sold nationwide to other heating companys who trust Mitchell Mechanical, Inc. to design the perfect heating system.
We have a professional, full-service heating and cooling staff ready at a moments' notice to be dispatched for service and repair of your heating and cooling equipment. We also offer commercial, industrial, and marine service of steam and hot water systems and burners.
-----------------------------------------------------
The awful misspelling of "professional" in the last paragraph is pretty bad... This with very few contextual changes as such seems decent if rather broad. I would suggest that you have claimed to "specialize" in an extremly broad range of heating systems. Nothing at all wrong with claiming exceptional design and service in such a range (as long as such are true), but radiant floors [seem] to be your real specialty based on a later paragraph.0 -
Thanks again.. I too noticed alot of spelling and grammar mistakes. I am actually having a pro do the site. I found out that he is dislexic! I hope I don't have a tough road ahead of me!

Mike I hope you don't mind but I cut and pasted your re-write and sent it over to the designer. I had to make a change to the word company's to companies, and I changed Radiant Panel to Radiant Floor. Okay with you. Thanks for the help!

i am having some difficulties with the mouse
i have a strange composition style.
Dan suggested hitting the enter button twice to delineate paragraphs or, in my case....allow readers to not get lost on the convoluted sentence structures:)
Currently "Mouse " wont go good, so i have taken the ball out of it and am dialing the roll bar up sideways and down...problem is it dont likey go Up only down ) i think the thing is snippin at the schnapps when i am not here*~/:)
P.S. spell checking is a ReaL hassel:)

Sorry Steamhead. Personal thing against Springsteen. Great band but I just can't stand his voice--he only seems to have a vocal range of three notes...
Just thinking of "Pink Cadillac" makes me cringe.

So did Dylan
but like Bruce, his imperfect voice didn't keep him from writing a lot of great songs. And that cracked voice was great for songs like "Rainy Day Women #12 and 35" (a.k.a. "Everybody Must Get Stoned") and "Like a Rolling Stone".

Very Promising and professional, Josh
But you need to get a nice photo gallery of some of your work. That will CLOSE the deal for the base you are marketing to. Can't wait to see some pics. Yes, and you need a good editor...they called me "Grammar-Man" in College.....I'd be glad to proof-read something for you. Mad Dog

Josh,
I really liked your other site from a few months ago. I though that site was more technical, which is what I think I hear you saying. I agree with the rest, put some of your great jobs on the site. If it was my site I would hire a professional photographer to come to a finished job and take a group of photos. The price spent today will pay for your future tomorrow...0 -

Foot patrol
Uh oh, I caught a glimpse of a bare naked foot on the main picture what are you trying to do? sell pictures of feet in an attempt to confuse people about what heated floors are all about? I think there is a whole other thread devoted to that question. At least your model is wearing socks, but still, censoring that area of the picture is appropriate, or perhaps, getting the model to frown instead. [Obviously, I'm going no where with this thought since it was planted into me the other day. Bruce Springsteen always wears boots, and thus explains the popularity of the songs - that's all there's to it]
Seriously,
The most impressive item on the site is you, (but we don't get to see your shoes... I notice). Your profile is mighty. Your team makes me think of a story Dan wrote once - I only loosely remember it - it is this company that sends someone over to fix an older lady's steam heat. The best guy to send is the son of the owner, who's not only a steam wiz, but also looks very young. In the story he thinks he needs to improve his age appearance by adding a tattoo to his forearm, something massive, something like a big pipe wrench. The only flaw to the plan is that the tattoo gets horribly miss-spelled and our cool guy has to wear long sleeved shirts for ever and ever.
It's quite an accomplishment to be the youngest (steam permit) holder in your state. It shows both your head is screwed on right and you have all the ambition and confidence necessary, no tattoo needed. Plus, you have your hands on the Mariners' boiler - making their winnings entirely depend on you. Seattleites wont' miss that subtle message. Of course, if they loose, you're toast. I was once kissed on the forehead by the mascot of our local Dayton Dragons baseball team - I know the effect. (And if you're wondering, Heater the dragon mascot wears giant sneakers. Heater is his name)
On the technical side, the font on the tabs is not clear, perhaps too large. The font color is also a problem, particularly on the contact page, where your email address and such are impossible to read.
Did you know, there is another mitchellmechanical website, without the dash, eerily it has a bit of a similar logo on it. They're far away from you though, in Georgia.
Your site easily gives contact information - which seems most important for what you want to do.
You didn't add the affiliate link to Heating Help (yet)
I truly wish you loads of success, and keep the Mariners warm.
