boiler slab/plastic slab?

Hi all!

I just finished removing (man! thats work)! my 1920's round cast iron boiler.

I was surprised by what was under the boiler and Im concerned i need to patch it before the new boiler installers come next week, leaving just this weekend for me to do the job.

We have some minor water issues in the basement and I'd like to patch over the hole with Quikcrete so its not an entry point.

What I found under the boiler was that it just some cinder blocks embedded in the dirt beneath the boiler. the slab was poured *around* the boiler base.

What Im wondering is if any of you are familiar with the Buderus plastic bases. I cant achieve perfectly flat without digging out several cinder blocks and creating a bigger problem, so the base need to cler the "hill" of block and concrete.

Do the Buderus plastic bases have a hollow underside that can allow for such unevenness underneath? How big across are they?

The part that needs to be patched is about 30 x 36 inches, and will be about 1-2" above the surface of the rest of the slab when patched.

Is there enough room in the base for this?

Oh, we're getting the Buderus 124GX-25, so thats what the slab will be for.

Thanks for any advice... I appreciate it!
