Calculating a boiler

Since you will be living with the results of the heat loss calculation (the basis for sizing your boiler) for a very long time (as long as you are living in the house), it seems logical that you should hire a professional trained to properly perform a heat loss calculation on the structure.
If you will be hiring a contractor to install the heating system, it is best to let them evaluate the home and propose the best boiler for you. These guys do it for a living and are more than qualified to steer you in the right direction.
If you simply tell the contractor what to install, he will not be responsible in the event that the system does not perform as you expected.
