Has anyone installed one or more of these manufactured by Heat Transfer Products? We are putting in our first, and are wondering about the bronze recirc pump called for that connects the hot outlet and cold inlet pipes. Is this a measure to control condensation?
Also, they call for a bronze pump on the stainless heat exchanger, typically connected to a radiant floor. We bronze not cast iron?
Any insight will be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Boaz

have you tried calling tech support? Much faster than posting.
The bronze circulator is normally installed on the SSVH model. The "H" coil in the tank, needs to have the circulation, in order effectively transfer the heat from the storage tank, to the coil. If it is not installed, you will not get heat. It also has the added benefit of eliminating stratification in the domestic side of the heater.
You can run it constantly, or set it up with a relay, so it only comes on with a call for heat.
I am not sure why they labeled the heating circulator bronze, call the tech support office tomorrow, and they will do their best to give you an answer.
It could be, just a conceptual drawing, showing that you have the option. Only one drawing shows a bronze circulator on the heating side. It also does not show an expansion tank, but you know that is necessary. It could be that it is shown, in case someone wanted to use radiant tubing without an oxygen barrier. It gave the option.
If anyone wishes to see the drawing in question
