Furnace clean out

I got a quick look at 2 side by side oil fired furnaces that a gentleman asked me to schedule a tune-up/clean out for him. I didn't see the clean out ports. The furnace is a Lennox with a Beckett AFG burner.
Didn't see a model number but resembled a series 023.(it's not, just similar looking) There was an approx. 2" high by 4" wide site door looking into the chamber but NO clean out ports. What am I missing??????

Thanks.............ROOKIE

    A lot of clean-out

ports are behind the jacket on furnaces. A soot-snoot is absolutely essential for these, JMO!

You can see the cleanouts on this one on page 3.

Never been a fan of these guys, too much special stuff and available only to their dealers, but they do protect their dealers, FACT!

Thanks George but that is what one of them looks like. The other only has a 2"x4" port in the center. The two higher ports on each side as in the picture are not there. nothing but the chamber can be seen from the center port. Could the jacket on the back possibly be giving access the the heat exchange? Return is to the left when your looking straight at it with the burner in front of you, plen. on top, and only about a foot to the right with the 2nd furnace next to it and a fan in a can interlocked with both units in the middle leaving only the back open and exposed. ??????????

    Thanks............ROOKIE

    I'm sorry, as I said

not up on Lennox, just don't like them.

I would try removing the panel (both front and back) and expose the heat exchanger. It should be there and MUST be cleaned.

90% of all of the furnaces that I see in court have never been properly cleaned, FACT! Congratulations for trying to do it right!

BTW, a speed screw bit and cordless drill make getting those screws in and out real easy and you can buy those bits in sizes up to.............. Hang in there!
