Replacing baseboard to get more BTU's - suggestions?

I would try to make sure the t-stat anticipator is set correctly. Try to close down the adj. louvers in the living room area to basically make the system run longer before the stat is satisfied. Your other bedrooms are probably on the parimeter of the house and need alittle more heat. This may work, may not. What is the aquastat set at? 180* 200*? give it a shot.

    Suggestions ??

My son owns and lives in a single floor apartment over a heated garage. The entire apartment is on a single loop baseboard system. The thermostat is in the living room area and set to keep that comfortable. The bedrooms are too cool because of the large windows. I've suggested moving the thermostst but that just means the living room will be uncomfortably warmer.

What can I do to increase the the BTU radiation in the bedrooms? Typical slant-fin baseboards now. He has a Baxi propane system so we believe there is sufficient heat available, just needs more radiant surface.

What should I be looking at?

This is what I do first

Find out if the bedrooms will stay warm on a cold day if they push up the thermostat. If they get warm and the living room is too hot then I would think the living room needs LESS baseboard. Easier to take away then to add. You can just block off the airflow through the baseboards in the living room with either the dampers or what I do is get the black armaflex insulation big enough to fill the space above the fins (I think 1 inch) and cover sections of the fins till the room is cool enough. Just cut it to length to fit between the cover brackets. No piping no wiring and you can play around until it's comfortable
