low level CO detectors

The NSI 3000 low level CO Monitor exceeds the UL 2034 rating.

The screen will show 5ppm and sound the alarm at 15ppm after it has measured 15ppm for 15 minutes. It is only sold to contractors.

    Unfortunately

There is no such thing as a low level, UL-2034 approved alarm.

UL requires that an alarm never display/alarm below 30ppm nor alarm between 30ppm - 70ppm although it can display.

Since UL does not require any degree of accuracy of the display, however, that doesn't help much either.

The GRI report on the Performance and Reliability of CO alarms noted that the digital readouts seems to be displaying random numbers....

    OK

Odd thing is that if it 'exceeds' the requirements of UL 2034, then it is not 'approved'....

    go figure
