Resealing bushing in steam rad

Tape & dope?

We've got a customer with a rad that's leaking a bit. Looks like it's leaking round the threads of the bushing. I told them we'd give it a shot but I'm not sure we'll even be able to get the old bushing out.

try heat and turn the bushing both ways. I've removes a bunch this way. Watch out for left hand threads also. I use "rectal" seal 5 no leaks yet.

    Bushings

Cut the bushing down to the start of the theads with a sawzal at several locations to cave in bushing. Use non oilbase pipe dope with a steam systen and use lamp wick for leak less thread joints.
