System 2000 ?

The system 2000 is a nice system depending of course on the install (in your case that point is mute). The biggest issue I see with them is on the service side. Guy's cranking the bolt's on the EK1 until they break the back board or not setting it up per instruction. Another issue I find time to time is water related. If you have alot of mineral's in your water they can over time plug up the HX. I will say that when they run you can barely hear them. I believe in your case you would want the Frontier model. I haven't installed or worked on one yet so I can't comment on that..

I think I'll be upgrading my Peerless
WBV sooner rather than later . I've been looking at different brands and dimensions . My first few choices , the Weil Ultra oil , Burnham MPO and Viessmann Vitorond have no chance of squeezing under the stairs with the indirect I just piped in .
But the System 2000 will fit in like a glove . Anyone install these boilers and have some feedback ? Can they be ordered without anything but the control and burner ? Can it be serviced from the front only ? And can it handle low return temps for long periods of time ? Thanks in advance .0 -
System 2000
Oh yeah!
Clean's from the front, sits on a stand, so its off the floor. The front drops from the top. It also comes as an
option with a 40 gallon lo-boy tank. You can get all
kinds of options or a heat only.
It has a bypass built in and it also bypasses through the flat plate exchanger. It also uses its energy manager(control, zoning, temp, diagnostics, etc..) to cycle circulator.
Man is it quiet for a oil burner, I typically use Riello's
on WM but on this boiler EK-1 the AFG has a great air box
that is definately unique and well done.
The tech support is instant, if necessary the tech manual is very easy to read.
Do it you will love it. I have seen your pic's on your job's, this is up your alley, you do very clean work.
Any questions email me. lonslow@verizon.net

Can you order the stand
in different sizes ? The height I'm working with for the flue is maybe 5 1/2 feet . Can it be installed on the ground also ? Thanks for the compliment , and I'll send you an email . Are you a rep for EK ?0 -
sy
No
I am a Dealer, the Rep. I deal with will call you if you would like. Some guy's don't like the dealer thing because it bypasses the wholesaler. I thinks its great. They help with sales materials, support stuff like that.
The boiler can be installed on blocks but it must be high enough to open front for service. They offer 2 stands
the standard normal height and a stackable to slide the lo-boy under the boiler, its seems top heavy but I ve used them inside some closets works well.
I have put in roughly 25 so far, and 4 in 2 apartment buildings, I can't say enough about them.

They also have a model
that has the flue comming out the right side. So if you had it on a stand, you still have some hight left to pipe it up. Remmeber they don't use a barometric damper on the flue. EK wants them to run full temp, no reset on their controls, I guess to prevent excessive short cycling. Have you looked at the Burnham LE or the Laars MAX which has all the piping on top of the boiler.0
