Having a great time

A report from the McElwain’s on the southwest coast of Florida. We have been enjoying the sun and great weather. My house in RI we have been informed has some water in the basement. There is always something to distract you from having a good time.

One of the good things about vacations it is a time to relax and maybe read some good books. I thought I would recommend two that I have had a chance to read. The first one is a guy book titled “October Sky” written by Homer H. Hickam Jr. It was originally published as “Rocket Boys”. The title was changed after it was made into a movie as October Sky. It takes place in West Virginia during the late 1950’s. It is very well written.

The other is a girl book. I like to read those sometimes as it helps to get in touch with your sensitive side once in a while. The title of the book is “The Wedding” written by Nicholas Sparks. It is a great book to read if some of the romance has disappeared in your relationship. He has also written two other books I have read in the past, “Message in a Bottle”, made into a movie with Kevin Costner and the recent one also made into a movie called the “The Notebook”.

Judy and I are having a great time just being together without any outside interference. We are however keeping a close eye on Hurricane Wilma. We are right now in its projected path for this coming weekend. I sure hope we do not have to evacuate. Our rented house sits right on the beach so it would not be a good place to be in a hurricane.

We are in

Englewood just south of Sarasota. Temperature today 90 degrees with a nice breeze and low humidity. Sat by the pool all day and will take a walk along the beach this evening. I also have a boat dock right out the back door and my buddy can pull his boat up and pick me up. This is the life. The house I am renting is worth $700,000 way out of my league. Most of the properties around us here are in the millions.

If the weather holds we will be here for three more weeks.
