Best Boiler for Hydro-air setup
Well,
I was all excited about a Vitodens boiler for my system, but after speaking with an installer, he recommended against any condensing boilers as the fan coils require higher water temps.
What would be a very good noncondensing but efficient gas boiler for my application?
Thanks.

Hmmm
Thanks. The contractor said that if the boiler is condensing, water would be less than 140 degrees, and he said that 140 degree air would feel cold coming from vents (from hydroair units). Also, not sure what our coils would be putting out BTU-wise at lower temps. The downstairs coil is rated at 80,000 BTU and upstairs is 60,000 BTU, but I don't know at what water temp they are rating them. We do have variable speed Trane blowers. I think the cahnge in speed has to be done internally.0 -
We went from electric fha and hot water to a munchkin with hydroair coils and a superstor indirect.
dhw bill dropped from $60+/mo to <$30 heating went from $900 peak to $275.
system is great!0
