Shawn,
That would be where the steam comes in. Valves that are commonly available have their seats too high, interfering with the condensate return, creating lots of hammering .

radiator valves
Trying to locate a manufacturer or supplier for radiator valves for one pipe steam system. Apparently, Hoffman dropped that line three years ago. Nothing in Dahl either.
Thanks.

Do you mean the valve where the steam comes in, or the vent where air goes out?0 -
Try this:
http://www.statesupply.com/displayCategory.do?cuid=FP_VC_Gate_Valves
They list angle pattern valves for steam.0 -
I've found good prices at www.pexsupply.com, although they don't list a brand name.0 -
Here is their page of angle valves. They note them as generics, which mean they are probably imported. Don't know if the Hammonds are or not.

A google search for angle pattern gate valves yielded some results, like this:

radiator valves
thank you all for your suggestions.
I have just ordered a Hammond valve as a sample.
Hopefully, it will be suitable. We are working in a small appartment building that needs every valve replaced.

WATTS
try WATTS , a superior company. all their products seem to be first class and they now offer radiator valves to their line.0 -
Maybe..
but Watts brand radiator steam vents are made in Taiwan pieces of junk to be avoided at all costs. You won't sleep at night AND your radiators won't get hot. Kinda gives me trust issues with them.0
