With a 2 pipe system, the circulator forces the water from one pipe to go to the other pipe through the radiators. Monoflos are only needed on single pipe systems because they need a way to divert flow through a radiator.

    why are no monoflow tees used in 2 pipe systems and how does the water flow get to the 2nd floor thru the risers.

    A 2 pipe system is probably a (very small) tad more efficient and also has the benefit of better efficiency when combined with small individual thermostats on each radiator. The monoflo's plus is that you only have to have one pipe running around the house. Why are you considering?

    Home run...

    Why not put a manifold near your boiler and use PEX or P-A-P to pipe to all of your rads? Excuse the crudeness of the drawing. Small diameters of PEX are very inexpensive per foot.
