Chase probing

I need to test a horizontal chase to see if 3/4 copper will make it through. There's lots of clamps and framing in there so something that isn't straight and rigid keeps getting hung up. Problem is the chase is 18' long and the room that accesses it is only 7' long, so I need multiple lengths of max 7' with couplers that don't increase the diameter, and that allow it to be pulled back out. Are there any commonly available things, like broom handles that screw into each other, that I can use?
thanks,
jim

chimney sweep rods
Call your sweep buddy. He should have an assortment of rods that would work.0 -
Have you tried fish tape?.How about using a laser pointer to see if you have a route to fit the pipe. Can you use pex pipe ?.Or you could use 1/2 threaded pipe with couplings about 6 feet long.Once you pull the 1/2 inch through have a soldered 3/4 by 1/2 mip threaded into the 1/2 and then pull ithrough the chase.0 -
Pex can make it thru in one piece....
burn a fitting on 18" of copper attach it to the pex...send it thru with a 3/4X1/2 with a 1/2" capthen when it gets to where you want it to be take the reducer and 1/2" cap off ty the copper back in to whatever and go With it.0 -
