Ron you wouldn't by chance have some pic's of a boiler with zone valves in tight quarter's would you? I have an install on Wednesday that I need a pry bar to get the boiler in and just looking for idea's. Figure since your the king...:)

  • I do have one

with 3 zone valves on a Weil Gold hung off the floor , I'll try and track it down . Very rare for us to use zone valves so it's slim pickins . I'm positive I've seen many tight installs with zone valves on here , if anyone else can share them again .

What boiler are you using and how many zones ? An indirect too ?

    Thanks

I'm in the same boat as you. Most install's I do have circulators. It is the Weil Mclain with 4 zone's. 3 heat and the indirect. I wont' be hanging the boiler but have to dig down to fit it in, day's like this I really wonder why I do this job..:) I just spent three day's trying to get the baseboard run through the house. It's a 110 year old Victorian build on rocks and has settled alot (roughly 10" from one corner to the other).

Here is one. I wasn't trilled by the way it came out but thats what they get for rushing me on a Sunday no less and squeezing me into the corner. I still need to get a metalvent 7x5 reducer for it. Hope this helps.

    awsome

Thanks, just kicked my brain into overdrive with idea's. I do so love a challange. Just curious, does anyone have any problems' with zone valves on the supply side when your pumping away? Just curious on that. I haven't done a lot of zv jobs.. Thanks for the great pics, some beautiful jobs!!

Here's a couple of tight zone valve install pictures

These are actually from the second boiler install I've ever done, about a month ago now. Just haven't had time to post them all.

    Thought you'd like this

We were able to get the warm air furnace out today and get started on the boiler. Unfortuantely it started raining so hard the area we were working in flooded out (boiler is high enough to stay dry). Hope to be able to get it finished tomorrow, weather pending..:)
  • Looking good so far

Sorry I couldn't help with a pic on time , but I see a few real nice ones to look at . It really irks me when I know I have a certain pic of a certain job , but can't find it . One day I'll organize my mess .

Did you have to do the digging to get the boiler low enough ? Hey , now with the pit filling in , maybe you can sell them a sump pump ......

Good luck on this one Lchmb .

    Thanks Ron

We ended up removing two rather large rock's to get it to set level and then of course it all turned to mud with the river running through. I must admit doing zv's is nice and simple and it does cut down on the piping. Thanks to everyone for the pic's, it helps to get idea's from the pro's on here!!
