In my experience, I've noticed a call for 1 cycle per hour on a steam system stat, why? What happens if there are more than 1? Wasted fuel because the rads are still hot? Thanks in advance, Adam

Short-cycling
which can allow the burner to shut down before the last rad gets hot. But if the steam system responds quickly- venting is correct, pipes insulated etc- it will work with 3 cycles per hour, and the rads will never cool down completely.
