Should indoor oil tanks have both a supply and return line, or is only a supply line necessary.

Depends
If the run and location between the burner and tank can support a gravity feed without a syphon then one line is all that's needed.0 -
Can you run the fuel line from the bottom of the fuel tank to the oil burner in a horizontal plane along a wall protected from foot traffic and fastented securely? If so run one line. If you need to run up and overhead do it from the bottom of the tank and one seamless run(NO COUPLINGS) and install a tiger loop at the burner. I HATE TWO PIPE SYSTEMS.. Pitch you tank toward the tank bottom valve.0 -
Two Pipe
