You are a wonderful Dad -- keep up the good work!

I took my 12-year-old MAN to his first Michigan State football game yesterday. Penn State kicked our butts but it was a nice father-son day. I did my best to avoid embarassing him (which he often accuses me of doing) and at the end of the day he gave me a hug and said thanks for the great day. That meant the world to me.

    MY oldest son

    Christopher turns eight on Tuesday.

    Where the hell did the time go :) Yesterday I was crying and showing my newborn son to my Mom and now he's eight.

    I can barely pick him up anymore. I have to hug him while standing up. EIGHT ! Soon he's a teenager and starting to think he knows more than the old man. OLD MAN ! Damn it, I don't want to be the old man :)

    I guess I am having a Weezbo moment :)

    I guess the hunting storys got me thinking. Hug em, Hold em, tell em you love em and how much they mean to you. Its such a short time to imprint on em.

    My Dad use to tell me, anyone can be a father, not everyone is a Dad.

    Kids ... who knew ?

    A Gift

    Yes they are a gift. There are times we have to remind ourselves they are a gift and other times they make us so proud. Happy birthday to your son.

    Hey - Old Man!

    It's good to be The Old Man. Right till they turn 13 & your stupid switch gets thrown to the ON position. Stays there till they get to be around 18 to 26! Only they know its location and how to turn it back to OFF. Lois & I searched for it for years - never to be found. Relish each moment; cherish each memory - there's no turning back!
