Don't bother putting CO detectors in the basement as people will probably not hear it if it goes off.

Near bedrooms is the best place.

    Suffolk County CO Detector Law

I was at the supply house and saw a flyer notice saying that Suffolk County Long Island has a CO Detector Law. As of Sept 5th, there must be a CO detector for all new installs.

This is agood idea, even without a new install.

OK, but where MUST it be located? I have one near the bedrooms and the kitchen. Should I have one near the oil burner? If yes, how close?
