    YES!!!

My vote finally counted for something!

I'm so glad to hear this news. He's going to be quite irritated by carrying that thing around but, he'll just have to deal. No one is more deserving Than the PAH. His presentation in Hartford was standing room only for good reason.

I see this award as the greatest achievment within our industry. The Stanley Cup. With the insight and expectations the likes of of RB, Dan and Gill, What will PAH do with it?

Again, congrats to Dave and give Lois a big hug from Cheryl & I.
    Congratulations PAH :-)

    Good Beans

    Thank You and Congratulations!

Dave, Congratulations on your award there’s no question in anyone’s mind you deserve it my friend.

And on behalf of NAOHSM Education Committee, We thank you for the outstanding presentation you put on both days for us and our fellow technicians in CT this week.

For those of you that could not make the show. I wanted to share this awesome piece of information. You see others have mentioned in this thread how it was standing room only in Dave’s room. Well the truth of the matter is we had people standing out side with their ears to the wall just trying to hear the knowledge Dave was sharing with others.

After the first day we had the convention staff enlarge the room for day 2. And it was still standing room only we could not even close the door!

We also owe a great big thanks to Lois, Dave’s wife who played a key roll in the success we all witnessed over the past couple days. Thanks Lois. We love you!

So again, thank you Dave and Lois. We truly appreciate your talent and dedication. Bless you my friend.

    Your friend in the industry,
    Alan R. Mercurio

Alan Mercurio beat me to the punch on describing Dave's packed classrooms in Hartford; had to chime in myself though,
    Thanks and Congratulations Dave,

    You guys!

No dings, scratches or champaign toast drunk from the frame - yet(G). I'll tell you the truth, I was probably the most surprised by being given this challenge - and it is just that (IMHO) - to move it forward while paying it back.

I'll find each one of you who voted for me and pay back the favor(G). My one arm is already longer than the other!

I had my first opportunity to hold up Gil's Wheel of Fortune (Vanna White I ain't!) the very next morning and tell the audience the (very) little I know of his legacy. Last night, I visited B&G's web site for The Little Red School House and caught a few paragraphs about Gil. E-mailed them to ask for more info. If anyone knows anything about Gil and his history or knows someone who does, please have them contact me. As I wind my way down this path following Gil's footsteps these next two years, I'd like to have some good stories to tell about Gil, the Wheel and how it has managed to survive/evolve.

In two weeks, I was going to be just an observer on a trip to the new Watts training facility and look in on a class being taught. They asked (Sat afternoon at NAOHSM) if I'd like an opportunity to teach a wee bit, so there's opportunity number two to present the Carlson-Holohan framed Gil's Wheel and give another presentation.

Humbled I am by this nod from you all and I'll do my best to live up to the expectations.

The hell of it is, we missed the press conference regarding this award! Lois & I were walking the aisles of the trade show & I was feeling like a kid in a candy store as booth after booth of top-notch manufacturers were busily engaged with a huge crowd of very enthusiastic contractors and students. I felt very encouraged by seeing so many students with their school shirts that tagged them to their group. NAOHSM's education arm is evidently quite proactive and making a huge impact. Hats off to them for the energy and outstanding show. We enjoyed every minute.

As for the classes, the thirst for knowledge is strong in NAOHSM members. With good reason too. Judy Garber's energy was infused into every aspect of the event and her enthusiasm is positively infectious. No cure for that infection, I'm afraid, but to get on board and give it your all. You too Alan, your help was invaluable.

As for holding an audience spell-bound? There's no show like the Dan show. Lois remarked after just a few minutes in Dan's seminar: "It's good to sit at the feet of the Master, isn't it." It sure was.

Can't say enough good things about the NAOHSM crew - each one giving what certainly appeared to be 120% from this outsiders viewpoint.

And, my hat's off to the manufacturers who tirelessly (at least by outward appearances) show up with their products and support these events while supporting each of us by showcasing their latest and greatest stuff. Standing for days on end in a confined space takes better feets than I gots! My dogs were barking(G). You guys and gals are simply the best and it was a pleasure to meet with you while checking out your products. Many were so busy with hordes of customers that we never got the chance to talk. Next time!

The time is at hand to submit nominations for 2008-2010. As the Lord High Executioner said in the Mikado play: "I've got a little list....." I'll be submitting my nominations and on the lookout for more as these next two years fly by.

    Great choice

I've been reading Dave's articles in Contractor for a long time and got to hear him speak this past September at ComfortTech in Nashville.

Dave tells it like it is, makes things very understandable, and sets the bar extremely high for radiant installation. We need a lot more contractors like Dave to share their knowledge so that those of us that are in the "forced air" market can learn about the best heat under the sun.

    Congratulations Dave!

and I thought that a bit of fantastic news. A bit ironic too(G).

    Congrats!!!

    Dave,

I enjoyed your class at NAOHSM. You did a great job. For a young guy like my helper PJ coming into the trade there was a lot of things that he learned.

I am glad that a open minded honest person, who cares about the future of hydronics, the health of the nation ( Water Heater Action Group) and who stands uo for what he believes in win such an award. I am also glad to see such a person as your self teaching his ways to others through articles, seminars and messages on the wall.

Dave, You are truely making the world a better place to live in.
