Expansion tank w/ball cock (where to buy?)

Hi,

I'm putting together an open gravity based raditor system and need one of these expansion tanks with the old ball cock. I'm interesting in buying an old antique one... or a new model (does anyone make them any more?)

I don't think

anyone makes these things now. But you can use a plain steel tank with sight glass tappings on the side, run a vent/overflow pipe to a suitable drain, and fill the system from a valve in the basement.

You Can...

... get float & lever valves. The simple ones get used for things like cooling tower basins, and the more elaborate ones with a float chamber are used for pressurized tanks or vessels.

The Last Ones...

... we got were "Roberts", for cooling tower basins. Fisher also at least used to have a line of these, as well. I don't know how small the Roberts valves get.

In the attached illustration, the inlet is the hex opening on the left, the outlet is almost rectangular, and the float rod screws into the bit on the very right. (It's tapped to accept the rod.)
