    Find A Professional Rocks!

Had a terrific first meeting today with my local Find-A-Professional. Great guy; I’m looking forward to working with him on my project. As a now-educated homeowner, I can’t say enough good about the F-A-P service, and strongly encourage homeowners to use it, and Pros to get listed. F-A-P put me in touch with someone who knows his stuff, and thanks to the Wall, we immediately had something technical in common that helped both of us understand what my goals for the project are, what approaches could be used, etc. Allowed us to cut out a lot of the explaining that might otherwise have been needed on both sides. Granted, I am probably more educated about hydronics than the average homeowner, but I can only think that the Wall and associated resources help both homeowners and Pros get a sense of each other.

What helped sell me on contacting this particular Pro (in addition to being the closest in a Pro-deficient area)?

    1) by reading his F-A-P page, plus his website, I got a sense of who he is, how he approaches issues, etc.

    2) The big kicker is that he participates in the Wall, a tremendous on-line community of the best in the industry, who are committed to a great set of values in their profession, who help each other out, debate, criticize, offer advice, etc. So he’s more than just a guy who gets his various professional and factory training – he’s part of a professional community whose benefits I can see just by visiting this website. This has value to me as a consumer.

    So, if you’re a homeowner, use the F-A-P. If you’re a Pro, I think it’s a no-brainer to get signed up.

    Thanks again for The Wall.
