Had them is more like it. Nephew is home on leave from Baghdad and asked that we have a patio party with steamed crabs. Hell, if he'd asked for Romulan Ale, I'd have found some of that too. Hated to let him go back, but duty calls & he's honor-bound. Our hearts, thoughts and prayers go with him and all of the others currently serving.

Dem crabs was mighty good picking. Been three years since we had crabs(G). Rock salt makes for a mighty thirst!

We'll keep him in our prayers too. If you would, please remember a young lad named Mike Russell. He's the brother of my son's girlfriend and he's currently pulling duty at the airport in Bahgdad. Hope's to be done in November in time for deer season.

Chris chowed down for hours and must have eaten two-dozen himself! I steamed the corn (in the husk) over a wood fire, which has to be the best way ever for cooking corn. Baked spuds and a huge sheet cake with an American flag on it.

He brought back lots of digital shots of the area in and around Baghdad. In spite of what we see & hear on the news, there are many good things our men and women are doing in conjunction with the citizens of Iraq.
