Safelink actuator adaptor ring

I would like to use the Safelink heat motor actuators on a Rehau manifold. The actuator uses a red plastic ring with threads on one side, to thread onto the manifold, and a stepped flange on the other side where the actuator itself snaps on. The Rehau manifold has smaller diameter male fittings with finer threads than those used on the Safelink.
The markings on the bottom of the Safelink ring are: "VA16" and "M28X1.5". The red plastic cap that came with the Rehau acts as a balancing control in the absence of an actuator with ring, and has a "Pp" and "3" marked on the inside.
Is this do-able? Any ideas as to the source of an appropriate adaptor?

Regardless
of what "should" work I would verify the operation.
Cycle the Safelink operator open and closed once.
Snap one onto a Rehau manifold and verify the port is closed.
Verify the end switch is open.
Connect 24V and measure the travel of the valve.
If everything checks out, then you have the piece of mind of witnessing the correct operation. I have witnessed some of the adapters for the "helmet head" actuators that do not have the dimensions exactly right.

why would you want to mix and match those? Seems a lot simpler to keep the hardware on the manifold the same as the manifold itself. We use safelink and rehau ourselves, but I wouldn't want to mix and match those items like that.0 -
Have a Safelink actuator left over from house job, and now want to add zoning to the workshop/guest suite, which has a spare loop off the Rehau manifold. Besides, I like the four wire Safelink heat motor with end switch...work well with the Taco controller and only $27 each. Can't find a comparable actuator that fits the Rehau. Know of one?0 -
rehau's actuators are 4wire and have an end switch. other than that, I've never used them (very few of our jobs use actuators at all) so I couldn't comment further.0 -
A little google search got me to the Rehau resource center, and yes indeed, it is a four wire actuator...thanks...now to find a distributor, as I don't think you can buy these off the net. I kind of doubt they'll be close to $27 though.0 -
Oh, i see.. you inherited this system I guess? Sounds like there must be one in your area though or that hardware wouldn't have gotten into the job!0 -
Well, yeah, I'm the HO and the tubing/slab/Rehau manifold was done by a sub early on in my radiant self-education process. Since then I put in my own sandwich in the house using Mr.Pex (that's the Safelink link) stuff. Got alot of help lurking and occasionally posting here and on RPA site. Guess I'll check around at supply house around here. Was a plumber in another life so still know my way to the counter.0
