Source for ceramic fiber rope for boiler seal

Can anyone recommend a New England source for ceramic fiber rope to replace the missing seals on my boiler access doors?

Are you sure it is CF and not just mineral fiber such as Kaowool? Most HVAC supply houses around here have the mineral fiber rope. Since it is rated about 1,200F that should be all you need unless its going on a brick kiln or similar. Otherwise, you can Google it and maybe find a local supplier of specialty insulations. Any big city that mfrs steel, bricks, metal heat treating etc. should have a refractory supplier around.
BTW, low temp fiberglass rope gasketing is available at any woodstove shop in 7'packs or spools.

Any supply house

that sells cast iron sectional boilers will have what we call, "non-asbestos" rope. Use 3M adhesive to make it stay put during installation - unless you're filling chinks in an older and still fully assembled boiler block. Then just use a putty knife and/or screwdriver to push the rope into the joint.

BTW, the stuff comes in various diameters. From 3/8" to well over an inch. Make sure you get the right diameter or it will leak excessively, or worse, have to be hammered in and stress the daylights out of your seams, your poatience and your screwdriver/putty knife (:-o)
