    Pumping Away

Allows your circulator work as the manufacturer intended, by forcing it to create a positive differential pressure across the circulator. When you are "pumping towards" you are shifting the positive differential pressure almost entirely as a negative pressure on the suction side. This you know, drawing in air potentially and not spending the energy in the most efficient way.

Sort of like running up the down escalator. You can do it but at what effort and result?

    what i found

What i have found in over 10 years of piping boilers and heating systems pumping away is no air related calls, better distrubtion of heat out to the system because of proper pump placement .As for money saved i do know that when i worked for a oil co that even on older boiler that i would re pipe to pumping away that they would take less fuel then was computed by a auto delivery system using a degree day with past use records and in some cases up to 200 to 300 less in a season .I know that some of my gas burning cust when replacing a boiler and re piping pumping away had seen soem savings o there gas comsumption in threms used not amount paid rates change monthly . peace and good luck clammy
