became a dealer and have yet to do one but have averaged 35% savings with both Biasi and Buderus [without reset] replacing primarily steel dry base boilers with coil. So I have no doubt an EK will do at least that or better.

    system 2000

Energy Kinetics clames to reduce fuel oil and gas consumption 40-50%. is this an accurate clame and if so why dont we hear more about this energy saver.-- Jojo

  • System 2000 certainly saves oil. The percentage is something that is based on many different variables.

Its my opinion that the cost of installing a system 2000 over a more conventional system will pay for itself shortly in oil savings.

As to why we dont hear more about it,.. lots of reasons. Its not the only energy saving system out there. System 2000 only sells to qualified dealers. Since they do not sell to supply houses they dont have the commercial notariety that other manufacturers may. As a result of their strategy, you rarely hear of a dissatisfied system 2000 customer.

    my 2cents

I installed them for years, we were the first in CT, as an oil company we sold OIL, but as we soon found, for every System 2000 we put in, we needed to pick 2 new accounts to make up the difference in oil sales.

The first few we monitored very closely, if they did save that much we would have drastically alter the degree day set up for deliveries.

We saw some homes go over 50% in savings, 1200gal yr to 400-500galyr.

Yes it is a steel boiler and they have improved on it, the thing is it's a system, not a boiler, between the boiler design, I call it a snail, and the controls is where you save, it is totally on demand and you get most of what you burn, it also proves that AFUE is not valid.

The only thing I don;t like about them is the heat exchanger for domestic h/w, I prefer indirect w/h instead.

Not only that, the Marran family is very nice and they stand behind their product.

In short yes, I rec'd it. With oil @ $3gal the savings will pay it back faster, maybe 2 years
