Pulsing/panting radiator vents

We just had our old steam boiler replaced. We have a one pipe system. Today when the boiler was running I could hear air pulsing (panting) from the rad air vents. The venting
on the mains is good (a combination of Gorton #2's/Hoffman 75s). This didn't happen with the old system and I'm curious if this is typical of an updated system (the old boiler was over 60 years old and very oversized).
Thanks.

Probably needs cleaning
dirty water or oil sitting on top of the boiler water can cause this. Have it cleaned and skimmed and see if that helps.
