having trouble with a revolution rv-5 natural gas boiler that was installed on 12-01.homeowner says that the inducer fan motor is acting up at times coming on and off at startup and then it will run ok. i have been there twice to check for a problem and nothing shows up. i have checked the pressure switch wiring and hoses and they are ok. any thoughts on this problem. thanks!

    I ain't Glenn

But I'd bet there is a monday morning built relay that is trying to get "on the job" ahead of the motor. It may be that a little time it'll get better. The relay may be solid state, in which case it should be replaced. (the whole control board?). Have fun with this, while waiting for Glenn. When a pipe leaks the wet is where the problem is, when electrons leak or stop, there is no wet place!

    They had an issue

with the impeller coming loose on the motor shaft. It would eventually slip, or rub on the side of the case and slow or stop the motor. Check the impeller set screw.

    Keith,

I would suspect either the hose connections to the pressure switch or the pressure switch itself. We recently began using Honeywell pressure switches and different tubing (black and grey). We previously were using Tridelta switches with Silicon Tubing (black and red).

Next time it acts up try temporarily jumping out the NO (Normally Open) and C (Common) terminals on the pressure switch. Do NOT leave it this way though! If it corrects the problem, I would suspect either a miscalibrated switch or a tube that is not fitting tight. Also check both tubes for condensation. Hope this helps.
