Butch is back from the Vet

and I almost fainted at the bill. But the Vet did a great job.

He was so badly bitten & infected, I had to leave him overnight.

He had to be bathed, sedated, partially shaved, and treated for over 22 bites & puncture wounds on his legs, shoulders, neck, throat, ears, eye & mouth.

His appetite is great and even takes his antbiotic pills.

The Pit Bull's owner talked about getting another right away, but the other neighbours & myself talked him out of it. Looking down at the 12 gauge, convinced him we were serious.

I had a job scheduled for today that would have covered the Vet bill, but the lady with the #10 romex feeding her 125A trailer panel cancelled. She must have gotten used to the "blinking lights". Oh Well, on to the next one.

    Y'all take care out there.

    Brian.

As rough as he looks, it will soon be a distant memory (this is assuming dogs have one) :)

    That's good news

Those antibiotics are supposed to taste like Liver. Yecch. Dogs gobble 'em right up though. How come people meds don't taste like something good ?

That trailer story sounds familiar, too :) I once saw a 14/2 holding 42 amps ! The insulation was a little "wet" looking, and this was in a motel !

Man does he look bit up . Is he in any pain ? Did the vet give him any pain meds ? I'm real glad the pup is on the road to recovery . My dog is recovering from deep cut from glass he ran on at the sump . It ain't nowhere near as severe as what your dog went through , but I can see he's in alot of pain . I'm gonna call the vet to see if they prescibe something to ease his recovery . And the antibiotics ? He hates them . I got to hold his mouth wide open and flick it down his throat before he wiggles out of my grip . Take care buddy .

    No, Bob. 10/2 w G regular romex

    Ran underground at that.

And no ground conductor from the panel to a ground rod.

She apparently had something more important to spend the money on???

This home-brewed rural electrical stuff is scary.

I'll take pic's when she decides, but it may be pic's of an ex trailer.

    Brian, the country sparky :)

    Tony, was that 14/2

    GLOWING?

Butch got wise, now I have to stuff them in chunks of something :)

    Take care, Brian.

    Thanks, Mark

He's acting like nothing happened. One tough dog.

    Cheers, mate.

Ya, I've seen those pictures of slums in some countries where they just tie on the the "free" power. There are lines running everywhere, real scary. I was a junior sparky about 34 years ago, after a stint with an REA. Know just enough to be dangerous:)

    He already forgot it Bob.

In the pic' he's actually laying down waiting for a belly scratch, and purring like a big soft kitten. He hasn't even scratched those wounds, "they're just another thing" as they say down here.

Now let's get on with 2006, yes. Because 05 sucked.

    Onward, Brian & Butch.

I sure did get him back, Joannie

I also learned that I have more to take care of besides myself.

This is going to be a good year.

Thanks, & Happy New Year, Lady Joan.

    Brian

    Misery loves company...

Sounds like I wasn't the only one that had a rough year:) I finally had the "world's largest" herniated disc (it was a monster) removed in late August, after battling it since January. Ever lose the feeling in both legs to the point where you are peeing on yourself? Man, I don't want to go through that again. Hope whatever troubles you had are Gone Johnson.

I have to trick him now, Tony

& mix them in gravy or stuff them in treats (like liver) :)

42 Amps on a 14/2 ??? You could toast bread on that :)

The Motel probably had a "well rounded maint' man" who knew what he was doing.

    Cheers, Brian.

    Thanks, Ron. But dogs rarely

show signs of pain unless they yelp.

His other side is just as bad, and chest too, but he just seems to shrug it off. It looks like he's laying down in pain, but he's actually laying at my feet waiting to be scratched some more.

That's a beautiful Lab you have too, Ron, and doubtless as tough as nails. They're amazingly strong & resilient dogs.

Keep his foot clean and put a sock on it (not in it:)

    Here's to an incredible 2006.

    Cheers, Brian.

    He sure is, Matt

but doesn't act like it, except around Pit Bulls.

That's a gorgeous Alsation you have. We had one just like him called Grief, yes Grief, when we lived in Germany in 1951 thru 1954. He bit me on the Butt because I tried to ride him......wrong.

You weathered the storm at the other thread like a champ, we knew you would.

    This IS a good place.

Watch out 2006, here we come.

    Cheers, Brian.

    The owner !

It was July, HOT (for here), 9:30 P.M., AC's running full bore (WAC's), and he was changing 30 amp slow-blow Fustats every 15 MINUTES ! He called me when he opened the last box and knew he'd be in trouble in another hour and his rooms got hot :)

    They got hot anyway :)

One of the rooms' tenants were working on a school project and about crapped themselves when I explained why they wouldn't have AC that night :)
