As the father of a Marine (once a Marine always a Marine)who is now excelling in Army drill sargent school I constantly feel a pang of guilt and sorrow when we lose another life during war.

I can't help but feel the sadness of the innocents that are killed on the foreign soils we are fighting in. I strongly believe that war was outdated after the dropping of the bombs on Horishima and Nagasaki. Considering the exponential growth of mankind since then we are making progress percentage wise.

Short lessons in history tell us that desperate people do dsperate things and are subject to fanatical behavior.
The terrorist war we are fighting (well not without merit) is not the the complete answer. We Americans have the ability to "Lead by Example" and are not doing very well at it.

We have very inept leadership at his time and I sense and hope that there will be rapid change before blunders ruin our status in the world.

I have nothing but respect and praise for those who defend our great nation and nations that share our true values.I would like to think that those who have sacrificed so much have done so for positive reasons.

I do not like the word warrior,I much prefer the word defender. The courageous acts of the countless men and women who have brought freedom and peace to countless millions around the world are nothin short of heroes. We cannot repay with nothing other that respect. Those of us who have not contributed directly to the war effort can do our part by pressuring our leaders to find peaceful solutions to conflict.

I want and all of us should want world peace and harmony!!

Our brave defenders deserve that as just reward for their brave and heroic action.

Peace and peace soon!
