They do have a spot where you can print out the set up and installation manual. I am not sure exactly what you are looking for.

    Amtrol TopDown Head Loss Needed

    Hi Gang,

Seems my DHW production is a bit low I believe the pump may have been incorrectly specified. I have the head loss vs. flow curves for the Taco pumps, my Ultra boiler and made a table for the piping. All I need to finish this is Amtrol data which is non-existant on their website. Their phone system has not called me back either:-)

The unit in question is a 41 gal Top Down with SC-5000 HX. Any one have data??

    Thanks,
    Mark

Try Amtrol.com. Its a great sight and gives cv values that you might be looking for.

    Amtrol web

    Mike,

I've tried every page on their site and cannot find the info. They have it for their commercial line, but in residential, they don't have the new stuff listed. If you see it there, please shoot me an email.

    Thanks,
    Mark

    If I'm not mistaken...

It is pretty much the same HXer on their other tanks, just pipe from above instead of below...

That is USELESS to answer the question asked. You should have gone here: http://www.amtrol.com/pdf/bmclassicbroch.pdf

    ME,

You may be quite correct, but they do go out of their way to say that this is the SC-5000 HX on their TD-7 top down model. I could assume this is true, plug in the head loss at my needed flow, pick the wrong pump and be back to square one.

As of today, they have not returned my call. I'll give'em until noon and then bug their Canadian office, which oddly enough, is WAY close to me than their US office :-)

Oh, for those that asked, I need a graph or table showing FLOW RATE VS. HEAD LOSS for the SC-5000 heat exchanger.

    Thanks,
    Mark

    Present Install Data

    Kevin,

I'm all set. I finally got through to Amrtol tech service. They said that the design conditions for the Top Down 41 gal with the SC-5000 HX is 5 gpm at 2' head loss. Using this as my design flow I get 2.1' of loss for the piping, 6' of loss for the boiler and the aforementioned 2' for the Amtrol for a grand total of 10.1' for the system. Plotting this system on the Taco IFC muti pump graph indicates that the 008-IFC is the right pump. The 007-IFC which was originally installed was way to small. The 0014 and 0011 that guys on HVAC-talk were suggesting would be way to big. The new pump is on order.

    Thanks to all.
