    One tight fit

This one was a thinker as to how I was going to fit everyhing. As you can see I had to move the supply to the bottom to make room for the Taco zone control. No matter though the flow is 3 ft/sec.

Anybody else have pics of some tight spots? I would love to see them.

P.S. This is an orchid greenhouse. The customer wanted a 4 degree temperature differential between benches that were 3 feet apart. No problem I told him. He didn't beleive me until he put his data recorders in over night and the temperature between the benches was exactly 4 degrees. Gotta love hydronics. The heat emmiters are True Leaf Star Finn Pipe. I am really happy with it.

    tight fit

Don't have pics on computer but we did a job two years ago that really needed a shoe horn. In a 5x8 room we installed a Weil McLain +100 tank and two GV Gold 6 section boilers, all the cirs for 8 zones and the indirect, reconnected the piping loops and installed a new control system with a Tekmar, and had to stay away from one wall that had all the building electrical panels that we had to stay 3 feet away from. What a job !!! sure am glad that the warranty period is over and the building has been sold to someone who uses another contractor.

Very nice install Josh . Do you have other pics of the controls and piping ? Most of my work is done in tight spots so I understand the extra effort needed to get the job done right . And you did more than alright . I did a nice tight install last Friday , I'll post that job here tomorrow .

    True Leaf

I've seen them on the internet, but never in person. How were the True Leaf extrusions to work with? Do the connections seem reliable? It's probably not a bad idea to combine an aluminum boiler with the aluminum StarFin waterways.

should use that first pic on ALL of their brochures and I am NOT kidding!

We all see boilers in basement mechanical rooms. Big deal.

How many can show their boiler with THAT background???

Nice work Josh and if I may make a suggestion.

Show that first pic to EVERY SINGLE customer you or your sales force goes to visit. You will sell more boilers. I'd put money on it.

    Andy,

At first I thought the fittings were a little bit flimsy. Basically each fitting has two heavy duty O-rings that slip into the rads, then they have a ring that goes around em and fastens into the fins of the rad. But after installing them I would bet my reputation on them. And that is exactly what I did. I think the thing I like best is the radiant quality they have. It doesn't feel like they heat very much air which is why I could keep benches three feet apart at 4 degree temp differentials.

Sorry Ron, I didn't think to take pics of the controls. Basically I used a Taco zone controller and let the boiler handle the reset logic. I am a big TN4 guy but I kept this job super basic because it was 2 hours from my shop and it is only 600 square feet.
