I was looking through the installation requirements for the Revolution II and noticed that there were minimum lengths for the vent and air intake:
Table 4: Vent/Air Intake Length Model RVII5
4" Air Intake Pipe
(Equiv. Ft.):
10' minimum
3" Vent Pipe (Equiv. Ft.):
8' minimum
If you were to vent this out the side wall of a basement, it seem like a stretch to get a minimum of 8' or 10' of run in the pipe. Why is there a minimum requirement?

The minimum venting requirements are there in order to properly prove the differential pressure switch to prevent erratic fan operation. The 10 feet of distance is not linear distance, it is equivalent feet of pipe. Every elbow is equal to 5 feet of pipe so it will only require 5 feet of pipe and 1 elbow to meet the minimum. Hope this helps!
