can i install 1 1/4\" copper into a steam system?

i cut out existing pipe going from first fl to 2nd and want to replace it with copper. is it ok?

Most of the
steam fitters use black steel pipe; less expansion/contraction that could lead to failure.

copper steam line
If you must use copper it would be wise to braze your fitting to help ith the expansion and contraction.I would also use "L" type tubing. Myself I prefer black iron pipe with castiron fittings
