Potable PEX

Though all pex could carry potable water, not all are rated for such. Always check to see the NSF rating stamp, or be prepared to replace it for an extremely picky inspector. There are some manufacturers that get both stamps (hating and potable) for a single tubing but many do not.
You really have to watch the expansion of pex on the hot water side. Make sure there is nothing that is going to rub as the tubing gets longer. I went with PAP to control that in my place (less expansion, holds shape.)

Been using Wirsbo
for all Domestic water repipes, comes in straight 20 ft sticks makes it easy for crawl space and attic work.0 -
pex
Stocking both the stadler and wirsbo fittings but only the wirsbo tubing seeing it works just fine w/ the stadler crimp fittings or when you can't get the crimper in there we have the wirsbo fiitings on hand.0 -
we use the viega
very easy to put together, don't have to expand anything. The only thing to remember is to do all the cold or hot at one time and mark the ends. Yes you can use the red and blue, but that also means stocking more pipe, course if you use alot, it won't really matter. The stadler viega comes in rolls or twenty footers. Remember, pex is pex, most of the fittings are pretty much interchangeable. The manufacturer will of course dispute that and won't warranty it but you'll find it pretty much true.0 -
What about hot water circulated systems?
With chlorinated water. Are there any constraints(NSF Protocol 171)?
